Rochester - Leverne C. Bennett, 74, passed away Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family, following a period of failing health. Born August 28, 1936 in Barrington, NH he was the son of the late Phillip S. and Anna (Arlin) Bennett. Mr. Bennett served in the Army National Guard. He worked many years at Spaulding Fiber in North Rochester. He had worked as a security guard for many years at Frisbie Memorial Hospital before retiring and worked for a brief period at Liberty Mutual. He was a member of the American Legion Post 7. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things and was an avid Red Sox fan. Members of his family include his children Debbie Collier and husband Steve of Rochester, NH; Susan James and husband David of Rochester, NH; Terri O'Brien and husband Michael of Farmington, NH; Patty Deely and husband Mark of New Durham, NH; David Bennett and wife Kristina of Farmington, NH; Heidi Bennett of Rochester, NH; and his honorary daughter Betty Keegan of Gonic, NH; his grandchildren Eric, Brittany, Kellie, Matthew, Erica, Kathy, Patrick, Erin, Anthony, Zachary and Andrew. Also his great grandchildren Ronnie, Alyssa, Christian, Makayla, Taylin, Christopher, Kaiden, Lily, Stefanie, Sarah and Joshua. His sister Carol Gagne of Dover, NH who lovingly called him "Brubby" and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine (LaBonte) Bennett and his daughter Kathy Bennett. Also, his special Aunt and Uncle, Bertha and Raymond Merrill. There will be one hour of visitation from 12 PM to 1 PM, Monday, April 25, 2011 at the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Fr. Dan Sinabaldi.
