Pauline Leeman

September 24, 1923 — February 20, 2012

Dover- Pauline Maglaras Leeman passed away Monday, February 20th, 2012 at the age of 88. Pauline is survived by two sisters, Vasilia Bellemeur of Rochester and Uranius Marshman of South Berwick, Maine; three children, Dennis Leeman of Rochester, Paula Seeley of Farmington and Donna Leeman-Toribio of Milton; a granddaughter, Lisa Seeley-Osman of Holyoke, Mass., whom she raised as her own daughter; and her other grandchildren, Aaron Leeman of Milton, Eric Leeman of Rochester, Sarah Harris of Rochester and Natasha Fifield of Gonic. She was also the very proud great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren and an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, George Hazen Leeman of Milton, brothers Charles Maglaras of Eliot, ME, John, Arthur and George Maglaras of Dover and sisters Mary Harold of Rochester, NY and Evanglia Nickless of Rochester, NH. Pauline was born and raised in Dover, the daughter of Constantine Sousounis Maglaras and Dionysious Maglaras. As a young woman, Pauline spent much of her time helping with her parent's household and with her many siblings. She enjoyed socializing with her sisters and friends as well as taking in an occasional Boston sporting event. Pauline was also employed at various shoe shops throughout the Rochester and Dover area until her retirement in the early 1980's. Pauline was an avid and talented hobbyist. She enjoyed cooking, reading, needlepoint, knitting and crocheting and was an enthusiastic watcher of her "daytime stories." But her favorite pastime was long rides and lunch dates with her husband. Above all else, Pauline's love and passion lied in her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always of utmost importance to her and her greatest enjoyment came from being around her family whenever possible. "To our mom, sister, Polly' and Yiayia; we were incredibly blessed to have had you in our lives. Your warmth, kindness, love and infinite generosity did not go unnoticed and shall never be forgotten. You enriched our lives with your endless talents and lessons. You taught us how to keep our faith and even in the face of struggle, your unconditional love and belief in us was steadfast. You were more beautiful than we could ever express and with a longing ache, we will miss your warmth." "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may also be." -John, 14:3 There are no calling hours.
