Sally E (Shaw) Leonardi Picard Sally E (Shaw) Leonardi Picard of East Rochester, died after a period of failing health at her own home surrounded by her family. Born in Exeter, NH, she was the daughter of Frank (Tug) and Elaine (Hayes) Shaw. She was raised for most of her life in Rochester. Sally was employed by Peter Ejarque MD in Rochester for twenty-three years until his retirement in 1991. She then did private duty in patients' homes. She was a member of the National Association of Physicians Nurses and the National Registry of Medical Secretaries. In her semi-retirement, she was employed in the Lawn and Garden department of Walmart in both the Rochester and Somersworth stores from 1999 through 2008. In the past, Sally owned an operated her own tropical bird breeding business, fondly called "Sal's Pampered Peepers". Sally was an outdoorswoman, tremendously enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. An avid gardener, she had an annual vegetable garden, as well as tended to her fruit trees, and bountiful plants and flowers. It also was not uncommon to find her for hours on a slot machine at Foxwoods - which she considered well deserved R&R. Sally enjoyed people and loved life, living it to the fullest. Her philosophy was to treat others as you would like to be treated. It is perhaps from that attitude she gathered the many long lasting friendships she had and treasured. Ever so fondly she would say, "our family may be a little different, but you couldn't find a more giving, loving, and wonderful bunch in the world, and I am so fortunate and proud to have you as mine". Family closeness was a priority to her. Sally was pre-deceased by her late husband Marvin Picard in 1992, her parents Tug and Elaine Shaw, great-granddaughter Sidney Dilboy, and nephew Ryan Shaw. Sally chose to write her own obituary as she felt her children could not possibly not do her justice. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday January 28 at 11am, in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home in Rochester, followed immediately at noon with a party to celebrate her life, at the Governor's Inn.
