Alice Gracia Trask

Rochester- Alice Gracia (Breton) Trask died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Rochester Manor. Before residing at the Rochester Manor she lived at 54 Lowell Street, Rochester, NH. Alice was born on October 31st, 1930, the 13th of 16 children to Ernest and Lydia (Provencher) Breton of South Berwick, ME. Born into such a large family help to form the strong willed, fun loving women she grew to be. The premise behind her nickname "Bubbles", given to Alice in her early teen years, carried her through some of life's hardened times. Alice was educated in the Berwick schools until the age of 13, when as tradition had it, she would have to go to work to help the family. Alice proudly worked as a top stitcher in many of the shoe shops in the Somersworth/Rochester area throughout her working life. In 1951 Alice married the love of her life, Lawrence Trask, of Rochester, NH. They made their home on Lowell Street. There, they raised their children, enjoyed camping with their many friends and family, settling into a comfortable traditional lifestyle. Lawrence died of a heart attack in October 1971. Alice then spent her time helping her children, going to yard sales and craft shows. Alice worked up until she was 70 years old. She moved to the Rochester Manor in 2004 because of medical reasons. Today, Alice was reunited with the person she has been waiting to see, Larry. Such a wonderful reunion.. Alice will be lovingly remembered by daughters Gail and her husband Richard Chalmers of Nashua, NH, Vicki and her husband John Comeau of Port Charlotte, Fl and Carol Trask of Rochester, NH. She will fondly be remembered by her grandchildren. Known as Memere' to Tanya and Eric Trask, many will remember seeing her at their various ball games in the 90's. Memere' also spent precious moments with grandchildren Jodi Blanchard, Jessica and Jason Comeau and Lawrence Trask. She was also known as Memere' to Vicki and John's adopted children, Jason, Sherri and Courtney. Alice also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren. Alice also held a special place in her heart for her one remaining sibling, Donald Breton of Lake Wales Florida, her many Breton/Trask in-laws, nieces and nephews. Alice is truly a member of a remarkable family. Along with her husband, Lawrence Trask, she was predeceased by her son Daniel Gerard Trask, her parents Ernest and Lydia Breton, Five sisters, Mrs. Jeannette Pelletier, Mrs. Fern Pelletier, Mrs. Irene Hannigan, Mrs. Lorrette Fortier; Mrs. Grace Michaud nine brothers, Emile, Conrad, Harvey, Lionel, Rene, Gerald, Bertrand, Ludger, Richard, and twin great grandsons Joshua and Christian DeMello. Alice requested before her death that there be no calling hours. A celebration of Alice's life will be held Monday, July 23, 2012, at 10 AM at the St. Mary Church, Lowell Street, Rochester, NH. Burial will immediately follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Rochester, NH Please feel free to join the family in her remembrance.
