David Torr

Dover NH - David G. Torr, 80, formerly of 62 County Farm Cross Road died Thursday August 27th with his sons by his side at the Dover Center for Health & Rehabilitation. Born February 19, 1935 in Rochester he was the son of the late Franklin and Bernice (Goodale) Torr David grew up in the Chestnut Hill area of Rochester on the family farm. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1953, then enlisted and proudly serviced in the US Air Force for four years both in this country and Labrador, Canada. After military duty, he married his sweetheart, Janice Jacobs of Rochester. He graduated from UNH in 1961. David started his banking career in 1962. He became Operations Officer in 1967 and received additional duties as Cashier in 1969. In 1978 he was promoted to Vice President and Cashier. In December 1981, he was named Senior Vice President and Cashier. The next major advancement happened in 1986 when he became President and COO, and 1989 became President and CEO.
