Dorsity Tibbetts Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

ROCHESTER - Dorsity Wayne Tibbetts, 77, of 15 Lynn Lane, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009 at his home.Born March 8, 1932, in Prospect Harbor, Maine, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Vira E. (Bridges) Tibbetts.Fondly known as DW, Dorsey was a longtime Rochester resident. He was last employed by Rochester Truck, where he made deliveries. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.Dorsey was a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be remembered always by his one special girl. Members of his family include his wife of 22 years, Virginia L. Stacey of Rochester; his sons, Wayne Tibbetts of Maine and James Tibbetts of Missouri; his daughters, Anne St. Pierre of Maine, and Jean Sloat of Maine; his other children, Sherrie Stanley of Rochester, Cathy Davis of Rochester, Sebastian Stacey of Maine, Karen Raye Adams of Somersworth, Suzanne Carter of Maine, and Stacey Graham of Rochester; his brothers, Alan Tibbetts of Maine and John Tibbetts of Rochester; his sister, Brenda Pitman of New Hampshire; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., Rochester.
