Rochester NH-Fred Chisholm, 89, of Franklin St. died Friday October 21, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 25, 1927 in Rochester, NH; he was the son of the late Clyde and Hattie (Rolfe) Chisholm. Fred was a life-long resident of Rochester. He attended Spaulding High School, where he played on the 1943-44 State Championship baseball team. He continued his love of baseball and sports serving as President of both the Rochester Little League Baseball Association and The Rochester Community Activity Association. He served in the United States Navy during WWII where he was a Sea-Bee and consequently injured in Okinawa. After WWII he entered the civilian service working as a Deputy Accounting and Finance Officer at Pease Air Force Base and for his hard work and commitment he received a Meritorious Civilian Service Award. After his retirement he took a job at Brocks Plywood in Rochester. Fred was a very active man having run 1000 miles per year, playing golf at Farmington Country Club, and in his spare time loved building woodcrafts for his family and the craft fair at Bethany United Methodist Church. Members of his family include his wife of 68 years: Althea (Dunbar) Chisholm of Rochester, his daughters: Cindy Corriveau and her husband Robert of Rochester and Wendy Clough and her husband Richard of Rochester, his grandchildren: Tracy Taif, Kristen and Kevin Clough, his great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Aden. He was predeceased by his brother Harold Chisholm and his sisters: Dorothy Joy and Phyllis Moulton. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, Main St. East Rochester, NH 03868. Calling hours will be held Monday 4-7pm in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St. Rochester, NH 03867. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at the Franklin St. Rochester Cemetery at 11am.
