Kenneth A. Lapierre

May 30, 1947 — July 30, 2024

Rochester - Kenneth A. Lapierre, 77, passed away Tuesday July 30, 2024, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born May 30, 1947, in Rochester, NH, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Marguerite (Hussey) Lapierre.
Ken was a graduate of Spaulding High School class of 1965, where he was active in athletics including playing on the football team for which he was a team captain his senior year.  After graduation, he was selected to play for the New Hampshire squad in the 1965 Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl game.  He graduated from the N.H. Vocational Institute in 1967 and then enlisted in the US Navy.  Ken served aboard the destroyer, USS McCaffery, and participated in fleet and NATO exercises in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.  During his navy service he visited over twenty nations throughout Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.  Following the navy, Ken returned to the seacoast and began what would become a lengthy career working for General Electric in Somersworth NH.
Ken was a very handy person, who was an avid and skilled woodworker.  His creations are now dispersed among various family members throughout the area and will remain as a lasting reminder of his talents.  But perhaps his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandson, Nolan.
Members of his family include his daughter Randee Denbow of Rochester, NH; his long-time, devoted companion Judith Larck of Rochester, NH; two grandchildren Mackenzee and Hunter, one great grandson Nolan, his siblings Neil Lapierre and wife Diane of Woburn, MA; Lawrence Lapierre and wife Christie of Rochester, NH; and Leon "Lee" Lapierre and wife Susan of Dover, NH; many nieces and nephews and special friends Quentin Trefethen and Keith Trefethen.
He was predeceased by his sister Linda Lapierre.
The family wishes to thank Judi and Randee for the exemplary care that they provided to Ken during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in Ken's name.
Family and friends may visit Friday August 9, 2024, from 4 PM - 6 PM at the R. M> Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH.
