Lorette Green

Rochester - Lorette Y. Green, 96, of Rochester, NH died Wednesday morning, Dec. 19, 2012 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. She was born in Lynn, MA., on Dec. 2, 1916. She was the daughter of Eustache A. and Aldora E. (Ouellette) Ross. She was married to Patrick V. Green in 1937 with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. They had one son and one daughter. She received her elementary education in Lynn, Mass and her high school education in Lewiston, Maine. After marriage, Lorette and Pat moved to Rochester. As a result of her husband joining the US Marine Corps during WWII she returned to Lynn, Ma to be near her family. She worked as a secretary for General Electric Co. before moving to back to Rochester with her husband and children. During the following years she worked at the People's Building and Load Assn. (Profile Bank today), Archambault's Furniture, and the Rochester Savings Bank & Trust Co. She and her husband moved to Clinton, ME in 1969 until he died in 1984 at which time she moved back to Rochester. She was a very active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Winslow, ME. She served as President in 1977 and 1978 and was chosen as President of the Year both years by the State Officers. She was also active in Rochester as a member of the Emblem Club, The Rochester Area Senior Citizens, The Golden Age Club, and the Good Ole Sports. Lorette was an avid card and cribbage player and loved to dance and enjoy life. With her granddaughter Karen she had the opportunity and was always excited to travel to California, Florida, and Hawaii. She loved her family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She resided for the past eleven years at the Studley Assisted Living Home in Rochester where she received excellent care and loving attention. Survivors include her son Richard P. Green and his wife Anita; two sisters, Claire Tewhey and Cecile Green; Son in Law Robert W. Emerson; grandchildren Karen Green, Dale Green and wife Sherri, David Green and wife Angela, Dennis Emerson and wife Kim, Robert R. Emmerson and wife April, Michael Emerson, and Christopher Emerson; thirteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and daughter Sally A. Emerson; her parents; and four brothers, Joseph, Armand, George, and Robert Ross. There will be no calling hours. A memorial mass will be held at 10AM Tuesday January 8, 2013 at St. Mary's Church, Lowell St, Rochester. Burial will be held in the spring.
