Michael Phelan

Michael Phelan, born February 24, 1955, passed away peacefully after battling cancer. He is predeceased by his parents Ruth and Russell Phelan along with his niece Sarah Morse with whom he shared a birthday. He leaves behind his sister Kelly Morse and her husband Norman Morse and nephew, Christopher Davis, his partner Robyn Doke, and his sons Seth and Riley along with Sarah’s son, Harrison Beaulieu. He also leaves behind his dear friend and partner Rose Marie Hill who stayed by his side 'til the end, her family; Dylan and his mom Kelly; Amber, Ian and their mom Jennifer, all in which Mike considered his family and that he shared a loving relationship with. He enjoyed the people within the community in which he lived forming kindhearted friendships. Mike was a graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas. He worked with his Dad during high school and while attending college, learning the building trade, landed a job with Morrison-Knutsen as a drilling engineer during the construction of the Seabrook nuclear power plant. Mikes career expanded when he became a certified master electrician, master plumber and HVAC technician. After a mentorship with his fathers general contracting business he became a superb finish carpenter. After decades building beautiful homes with his dad, he joined the electrical union until retiring. Mike was a world traveler, lived in Sicily for a few years and loved sailing. He was very musical, took piano lessons in parochial school and private lesson throughout his childhood, played the drums in a band during his high school years and was a self taught guitarist. Mike was a loving brother who always looked out for his sister. She recalls a time when she spoke of wishing there was a way to get electricity out to a stage located a half an acre in the woods at a kids summer camp that she ran. He volunteered his time to make it happen and spent half the summer installing underground electricity, a physically grueling task for someone with serious health issues but he made it happen because he loved his sister and understood how much it meant to her. It will remain a cherished memory for her because they did it together. He was a brilliant man with a big heart and the best sense of humor! He could recite most of Monty Python-accent and all, passing it on to his nephew. His love of cooking gourmet culinary delights all while incorporating fun and laughter will always be our most cherished memories. He will truly be forever missed.
