Sue Ann Williams

Sue Ann Williams, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday July 17, 2023 surrounded by family at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH after a brief illness. Sue was born on October 28, 1953 in Portland, ME to her biological parents Albert and Barbara (Sherlock) Hamlin. She was raised by her parents Robert and Pearl (Foster) Goff in Lebanon, ME and attended Noble High School. In 1973 she married Bradley Genaw and lived in places such as Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, California, Washington, Michigan and Kentucky. They had 3 beautiful children, Christopher, Kevin and Elizabeth. She enjoyed painting when she was younger and won many ribbons at the Rochester Fair for her work. She loved bowling, camping in the White Mountains, sewing, flea-markets, bingo and puzzles, as well as spending time with her 9 grandchildren. She was a loving mom who was able to raise her kids while working from home as a fancy stitcher for companies such as Canobie and Colby Shoe. In 2006 she was proud to start her own business, Eastern Stitch Pro, where she enjoyed working closely with her children until retirement. After some illness she moved to Riverside Rest Home where her daughter works as a nurse. Sue was very spoiled by the staff, who loved her dearly. She was able to make many friends in her short time there. She was well known for her witty sense of humor, and her snacks. Her family is very grateful for the loving care she received during her stay. Sue is reunited in Heaven with her parents and siblings Robert Goff, Jr., Susan and Michael, as well as Treasure Genaw. She is dearly loved by her children Chris Genaw and Laurie of S. Berwick, ME, Kevin and Christina Genaw of Lebanon, ME and Liz Costa and Eric of Springvale, ME.; Grandchildren Danica, Donovan, Logan and Lucus Genaw, Anna and Hallie Genaw, Anthony Ciotti, Elaina Provencher and Madilynn Costa; Siblings Arlene Marshall, Kathleen Baker, Peter Hamlin, Sandra Murphy and Elizabeth Randall; Ex-husband Randall Williams as well as Jacqueline Genaw and many others that called her Mom. A very special thanks to the staff at Hyder Family Hospice House, Beacon Hospice and everyone at Riverside that went above and beyond during her final days. Also, thanks to Susan VanGorder and Sheila Hatfield for their love and support during her final hours. Services will be held at Edgerly Funeral Home - 86 South Main St in Rochester, NH at 12:00pm on Friday July 21, 2023. Burial service will follow at New Cold Springs Cemetery in East Rochester.
