Dover - Ainslie Spiller, 89, passed away Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Riverside Rest Home following a period of failing health. Ainslie was born in Rochester on October 14, 1922. She grew up in East Rochester in the house next to the Baptist church, where she lived for decades, making many lifelong friends. In 1992, she moved to riverside where , at her passing, she was the longest continuously abiding resident. Even though confined to a wheelchair for 20 years, Ainslie was known as their most independent resident. She would set tables, carry mail and other chores faithfully. She could be seen completing beautiful, often difficult, puzzles in the sitting room, where today some of those pictures hang framed on the walls. Ainslie loved birds and bird watching, crocheting, and gardening. She enjoyed writing poems and stories, reading her Bible and good books.
