Alfred J. Morin, Jr., (Fred), 74, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Peterborough, NH to Alfred and Yvette (Gelinas) Morin of Peterborough, NH. Fred's battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges.  Faced with any kind of issue Fred would often say, "just a bump in the road" but he knew this battle was not a bump and true to form he fought like a champ until the very end. Fred was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned the highest honor, the Eagle Scout rank. He attended Peterborough High School in Peterborough, NH, qualified and competed in the NH State Men's Swimming Championship. Fred enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served from 1967-1971. He fought in the Vietnam war and was awarded two Purple Hearts and served at Camp David on the Presidential Honor Guard. He attended the University of New Hampshire Whittemore School of Business and Golden Gate University, graduating with his MBA.  Fred also served as a police officer for the cities of Rochester and Dover, NH. Fred is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lorraine Morin of Rochester, their sons John Morin and wife Heather of Dover, NH, James Morin and fiancé Katie Hall of Rollinsford, NH. Fred (Pepere) cherished his three grandchildren and was happiest when spending time with them - Ethan and Gwen Morin of Dover, Cecilia Morin and her mother Gina Morin of Rollinsford.  Fred is survived by his brother, Peter Morin and wife Gretchen of Surrey, NH, sisters Gisele Meader and husband Bernard of Franklinton, NC, Teresa Davis and husband Kimball of Wilton, NH, two nephews, Jonathan Meader and wife Yvonne of Creedmoor, NC, Michael Meader and wife, Amanda of Longmont, CO, several cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents. Alfred (Fred) (Dad) (Pepere) was the rock of the Morin family, he will be profoundly missed and held in the hearts of his family forever. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 71 Lowell Street, Rochester, NH 03867 Fred will be laid to rest on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303 Donations may be made in Fred's memory to the NH Veterans Cemetery Association, Inc., PO Box 626, Concord, NH 03302-0626.
