ALICE MARY CARIGNAN 93 Alice Mary Carignan died peacefully at the home of her loving daughter on October 21, 2021, in Eliot ME after a period of failing health. Alice was born on November 16, 1927, in Lincoln, NH, the daughter of Cyril and Yvonne (Lessard) Theriault. Alice graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946 and soon moved to Somersworth to pursue anticipated greater opportunities. She began her career at General Electric Company rising to the position of executive secretary to the managers of manufacturing and engineering. She retired from GE in 1990, after 44 years of devoted service. She then began a new chapter as receptionist at The Travel Pro and retired in 2012. In 1947, she met and married Roger Carignan. They settled in Somersworth and raised their daughter, Linda. Alice was a loving, devoted and inspirational mother. She was a faithful and generous friend. She cherished her family, including her cats throughout the years. Alice lived a long and full life. She loved her summers at camp on Mousam Lake, gatherings with friends and family and traveling near and far with her daughter. She enjoyed playing games and was a formidable opponent, especially at cribbage. She was renowned for her melt in your mouth apple pies and tourtiere. Alice was predeceased by her parents, her husband Roger of 60 years, sisters Cecilia Ward, Leona McAfee, Carolyn Pelletier, brother Robert, and son in law James Gow. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gow, granddaughter Alison Kirkconnell and husband John of South Carolina, special nephews Alan Ward, Don and Larry Carignan, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
