Alice M. Sturgis

Wakefield - Alice M. (Hamor) Sturgis, 99, of Willey Road passed away Monday July 4, 2011 at the Wolfeboro Bay Care and Rehab center. Born in Portland, Maine, widow of Frank O. Sturgis, well known lumberman of Bonny Eagle, Maine. Mrs. Sturgis was a former resident of Standish, Maine, having lived in Wakefield for most of her life. Mrs. Sturgis worked in the Hotel/Motel business for over twenty years, holding positions in Management and Executive housekeeping. this included well known establishments in all of New England and Florida. She also held Real Estate Brokers Licenses in both Maine and New Hampshire for over thirty years. She was a member of several humane societies and worked actively in the care and well being of all animals, large and small, no animal was ever refused. Her devotions to this cause were well known to all who knew her. She had also found time in her busy life to become a Certified Nurses' Aid and worked at this profession for a period of years. There are no surviving family members....
