Alice Hopkins Wheeler

Portsmouth, NH-Alice Hopkins Wheeler, age 93, passed away on Monday December 3rd, 2018. She was born on December 23rd, 1924 in Milford, NH. The daughter of John G. Hopkins and Della Daniels, Alice attended both Milford and Spaulding High School, graduating from Milford High School with the class of 1944. She was married to Earl "Skip" O'Dell Wheeler Jr. for 64 years till his passing in 2013. Alice was active in the community while her children were young. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a 4H leader. Alice and Earl hosted many fresh air families and young adults from other countries through the 4H Extension Services. Alice was also a substitute teacher for many years in the Rochester School system. Alice is survived by her five children, Steven E. Wheeler of Rochester, NH; Susan Lane of Nashville, TN; Gail Turcotte (husband Stephen Turcotte) of Milton, NH; Peter Wheeler of Columbus, GA; and Mary Turcotte (husband Arthur Turcotte) of Bon Aqua, TN. She also has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Earl "Skip" O'Dell Wheeler Jr.  As well as by sisters Helen Tracey and Ola Jenness, brother John Stanley. Services will be held at a later date.
