Rochester NH-Allen Glidden,79 of Rochester, died Thursday September 24, 2020 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born November 24, 1940 in Wolfeboro NH, he is the son of the late Fred and Evelyn (Thibault) Glidden. Allen has lived in Rochester all his life. He joined and serve in the Unite States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Rouleau Construction as a finish carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, hiking and pretty much anything outdoors, he loved spending time with his family taking the grandkids to storyland and Santa's village. He loved going to country and bluegrass music concerts. He loved puttering around the yard and garage and he enjoyed helping people work on their projects. Members of his family include his wife, Ida (LeClair) Glidden of Rochester, his daughters; Deborah Carpenter and her late husband Chris of Farmington, Kathy Post of Farmington and Laurie Graham-Saad and her husband Steven of Rochester, a brother, Fred Glidden of Rochester and a sister, Bertha Trask of Rochester, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on 9/29/2020 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at R.M. Edgerly & Son funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday September 29th at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867. Burial will be in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen NH
