With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, and grandmother Terry Dwyer, on February 10 at the age of 66.
Terry was the kind of person who could light up any room she entered. Truly the life of the party, she had a gift for bringing people together—whether through laughter, storytelling, or her warm, welcoming smile. Her joy was contagious, and her presence made every gathering feel like a celebration.
Kind and caring to her core, Terry dedicated her life to loving others well. She found purpose in serving her community, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or show up wherever she was needed. Her generosity and compassion left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She had a deep and abiding love for education, believing wholeheartedly in the power of learning to transform lives. Whether in a classroom, at home, or in her community, she dedicated herself to working with children, nurturing not only their academic growth but their confidence and curiosity. She saw potential in every child and took great joy in helping young minds discover their strengths.
A lifelong learner herself, she never stopped asking questions, seeking new knowledge, or embracing opportunities to grow. Her example taught those around her that learning is not confined to a school building—it is a lifelong journey. Her passion for education and her unwavering commitment to children will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She had a deep love for travel and adventure. Whether exploring new places or revisiting favorite destinations, Terry embraced every journey with excitement and gratitude. The beach held a special place in her heart—the sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun, and the peace of the shoreline brought her true happiness. Some of her most cherished memories were made by the water, surrounded by family and friends.
Terry also expressed her creativity through crafting. She poured love into everything she made, creating thoughtful, handmade treasures that will be cherished for years to come. Her crafts were more than projects—they were expressions of her generous spirit.
Above all, Terry was a devoted mother, grandmother, family member, and friend. Her love was steady and unconditional, her laughter unforgettable, and her hugs the safest place in the world. She taught us how to care deeply, celebrate often, and live life fully.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Trott, her children; Travers Desjardins and his wife Christina Desjardins, Olivia Hersom and her husband David Hersom, Sydney Hamilton and her husband Kyle Hamilton, her step-children; Carolyn Towne, Mike Towne and his wife Deborah Towne, Sam Trott and his wife Megan MacDonald, and Katie Trott. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren; Emma Desjardins, Ellie Desjardins, Malcolm Trott, Kaden Hamilton, Brooke Hamilton and baby Hersom. She was preceded in death by her parents; Paul and Ann Dwyer and her Aunt, Agnes Grace.
Visiting hours will take place at Edgerly’s Funeral Home in Rochester, NH on Wednesday, February 18th from 5-7PM. A mass will be held for her at St. Mary’s Church in Rochester, NH on Thursday, February 19th at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library honoring her passion for education.
Though our hearts are broken, we are comforted knowing that Terry’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched. We will carry her love, laughter, and light with us always.
