Arlene Rosa Canney

SOMERSWORTH, NH - Arlene Rosa Canney, 74, of 11 Canney Court passed away April 24, 2016 at her home after a long illness.   Born August 31, 1941 in Rochester NH, she is the daughter of the late Ambrose and Eva (Demers) LaFleur and loving wife of the late Herman C. "Fudda" Canney.   Arlene was a life-long resident of Somersworth. She was a graduate of Somersworth High School class of 1959 where she met the love of her life "Fudda" whom she married and shared 55 wonderful years. In the early years of marriage, Arlene was a self-employed babysitter so she could spend as much time as possible with her own young children. Once the children were in school, Arlene began a career as an Administrative Assistant, eventually retiring from the University of New Hampshire.   She was a faithful communicant of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somersworth NH and volunteered at the Maplewood School foster grandparent program after retiring.
