Rochester, NH - Armand E. Dostie, Died August 16, 2019 after a period poor health  A lifelong resident or Rochester, he was born August 10, 1921, the son of the late George A. & Angelina (Leblonde) Dostie. Armand, went to school, in Rochester, attending Old Rochester High School. In 1941, Armand enlisted in the US Navy, where he served his nation duringWorld War II, for 6 Years being Honorably Discharged as a Motor Machinist'sMate, First Class.  During his enlistment, he took part in the "D" Day Invasion of France. Once stateside, Armand was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as aMechanical Engineering Technician for 24 Years, retiring in 1981.  Armand also, owned and operated Dostie Refrigeration of Rochester for over 10 Years. Armand was an avid genealogist who traced his family roots to a Noble FrenchFamily "DeBellot". He has also worked with Working Dog Foundation, which trained German Shepherds with the area Police Departments. Armand raised and trained many four-legged companions. A lifelong Communicant of Holy Rosary, he served as an adult alter server for many funerals.   Armand was a very active Volunteer at Gerry's Food Pantry.  He enjoyed gardening with his wife. He shared 71 years of marriage with Florence (Guillemette) whom was the love of hisLife since meeting her in the third grade. They were married, Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1948. In addition to his wife, family members include 1 son, Richard Dostie and his wifeRita of Rochester, NH, 2 Daughters, Nancy Ramsey and her husband Paul,of Farmington, NH and Julie Rasch and her fiancé Butch Vachon of Strafford, NH.1 stepson Carl R. Chapman and his wife Georgia of Dover, NH, 8 grandchildren Adam, Tom, Katherine, Stacy, Kelly, Zachary, Gregory and Michael.  9 great grandchildren, Kyle, Bryan, Tyler, Mitchell, Ethan, Aubrey, Emilia, Nicholas ,Corey and Jonathan Nickerson. He was predeceased by a brother Nathanial Turcotte and a sister Jackie Roy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 189 North Main Street, Rochester, NH with Fr. Paul Gousse as celebrant.  Family and friends may visit at the church one hour prior to the mass from 9:30-10:30 AM.
