DOVER Arthur C. Balomenos, Sr., 84, of Dover, N.H. died December 13, 2011 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital after a brief illness. Born November 6, 1927 in Rochester he was the son of the late Costas and Velma (Van Buskirk) Balomenos. Arthur had lived in Dover since 1984 and spent his summers at his home in York Beach Maine. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a special ops trainer. He was also an Army Ranger. After his discharge he graduated from UNH with a degree in civil engineering. He was employed by IBM until his retirement. He loved sailing and had been a member of the Power Squadron. He also had a love for building and tinkering, having built his summer home in York Beach, Maine. Having taken pride in the things he built, he took the most pride in his children and granddaughters.
