Barbara Serven

Rochester – Barbara J. Serven, 69, passed away on Sunday January 11, 2026, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born March 12, 1956, in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and

Phyllis (O’Connell) Gauthier.

Barbara had worked at Hannaford Supermarkets for 35 years before her retirement in

2023. She was well liked by her co-workers and customers and known for her outstanding customer service.

She loved spending her vacations camping, RVing, walking, and hiking. And when she wasn’t spending time with her beloved family, she loved going on day trips, sightseeing, and visiting beaches, lighthouses, and covered bridges.

Barbara leaves her husband of 48 years, George Serven, her children, Matthew Serven, Brian Serven, and Kerri Serven, daughter-in-law Michelle Serven, grandson Adam Serven, siter-in-law Evelyn and her husband Al Rezendes, sister-in-law Virginia Serven, and many nieces.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2 PM – 4 PM at the

R.M. Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH 03867.

A funeral Service will follow at 4 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.

Burial will take place in the Rochester Cemetery in the spring.
