Birlem B Pomroy

Greenland, NH- Birlem B. Pomroy, 78, of Greenland, NH died unexpectedly on Saturday Feb. 23, 2019 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover, NH. He was the son of the late Donald and Abbie (Bailey) Pomroy of Rochester, NH. Birlem went through school in Rochester, graduating from Spaulding High School in 1959. During school years he was a member of the FFA and 4H, showing cattle at various fairs. He also rode in N-BAR- H Club horse shows, and trail rides, many times competing with his sister June. He was a member of Spaulding Band, the Rochester City Band and a small group that occasionally played in the seacoast area. Birlem joined the Air Force and spent 4 years in the Air Force Band; stationed in California, playing in many western states and had a tour of duty in Guam. Birlem was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and target shooting. He drove taxi and a laundry truck in the local area, later went to work at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from which he retired in 1993. His later...
