BRADFORD H. YORK, SR. October 30, 1930-December 3, 2020. Bradford was born in Lamoine, Maine and grew up in Sullivan, Maine. After graduating from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1949, he attended Bob Jones University before serving with the Army where he spent two years in Korea. Upon his return, he earned a bachelor's degree at Barrington College in Rhode Island. Later in life he earned Master's degree in theology. Brad had varied careers, including elementary school teacher in Milton NH, gas station manager and security work. The church played an important role in his life from his early youth. He was an avid reader of both religious and philosophical texts and never missed an opportunity to listen to a good sermon. He enjoyed genealogical research and loved to share stories and photos of the ancestors he would uncover in his research. He is predeceased by his parents Doris and Harry York; a sister, Elizabeth; his daughter, Katherine Fowler; and his son, Brad Jr. He is survived by his wife, Martha Blaisdell Monbleau, his daughter Faith (Larry Ducharme) of Peaks Island, ME and son Peter (Tami) of Kennebunk, ME, his son-in law Richard Fowler, his grandchildren Leah, Richard, Peter, Elizabeth, Ellis, Edward, Anna, and David, several great grandchildren, and his stepchildren Will Monbleau, Ann (Larry Twitty), and Jill Monbleau as well as his first wife, Barbara Garvey. He is also survived by his loyal dog Andy. He was a member of the Lebanon North Berwick Baptist Church, the Maine Mayflower Society, Maine Old Cemeteries, and the American Legion. Brad was proud to be a descendant of William Bradford, the Pilgrim leader. A spring burial is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home Resident Benefit Fund which is dedicated to the benefit of resident's programs and activities.
