Bryon S. Cummiskey

Bryon S. Cummiskey of Rochester, N.H. passed away on May 10, 2025 from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Bryon was born on May 13, 1947. He was known to have an extraordinary sense of wit. Bryon played basketball and other sports at Spaulding High School. He was proud to say that he played basketball at the Boston Gardens. He loved the Celtics. Bryon attended Plymouth State College. He majored in education. Bryon taught high school students in Somersworth and Dover, N.H. Bryon headed Citizens Bee and Search. Students loved him for his intellect and sense of humor. When Bryon retired, his students gave him a plaque with Elvis Presley and Beyonce on it. Bryon leaves behind his wife, Lynne, stepdaughters Tracie Plodzik (Jon), Nicole Lorenzatti, stepson Todd Bergeron, David Lorenzatti (Tammy), his brother in law Jim Bennett and wife Claire; his sister Marilyn Laverdiere, his nieces Bonnie Atkins (Alice), Rebecca Calero (KeyKay), Jennifer Perry (Laverdiere), Amanda Duraspe (Michael) and their families. Also left behind are his grandchildren: Kevin Plodzik and his wife Alex, Brad Plodzik, Taylor Plodzik, Talia Lorenzatti, Domenic Lorenzatti, and Bella Lorenzatti; step granddaughter Alyssa Ciccarrello, and step grandson Anthony Ciccarello. His best friend, Dwight Clement (Martha) was cherished. Bryon was predeceased by his parents Peter and Lucille Cummiskey (Beaudoin), his sister Jeannette Atkins, his brother in law John Laverdiere, his daughter in law Shannon Bergeron, sister in law Jacqueline Brennan and his precious 13 dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Cocheco Humane Society in Dover, N.H., SPCA in Portsmouth. N.H., or Humane Society of one's choice would be deeply appreciated.
