Acton, ME. Catherine Long, 79, of 232 Flat Ground Road, Acton died suddenly at her home Saturday June 7, 2014. Born Nov. 27, 1934 in New Durham, NH she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Austin) Perkins. She has resided in Acton since 1969 previously living in Rochester, NH. She retired from Spaulding Fibre Company as a machine operator. . She was a member of the Milton Farm Museum and the Historical Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grand, great grand and great great grandchildren. Catherine enjoyed cooking and baking. The widow of John H. Long, Sr. she is survived by sons, Dennis W. and wife Gail Long of Acton, ME, Michael and wife Karen Long, Somersworth, Donald Long, Wakefield, NH, Ronald and wife Noreen Long, Berwick, ME, her daughter, Candace and husband Paul Howarth, Sanbornville, NH; 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; brothers, Ralph Perkins, TN., Robert Perkins, MA.; sisters, Mary Cashman, Lynn, MA., Ella May Brown, Washington, DC and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, John Long. A graveside service will be Saturday June 14, 2014 at 11AM in the Milton Mills Cemetery, Milton Mills NH.
