Rochester - Charles Henry Anderson, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, July 15, 2019 at home in Rochester, NH. He was born January 31, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, to Charles and Alice (Freeman) Anderson. He never married or had children of his own. He is survived by 2 brothers, Ross of Maine; Wesley (Marsha) of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his close friend, Alice Freeman and her family: daughters - Pollyann (Timothy) Printy and family; Wendy (Robert) Wentworth and daughter Lexus, Beth Pompano and family; sons - Roland (Paula) Freeman and family; Robert Freeman and family; and many close friends. In his early years, Charles served in the US Navy during Vietnam, and was honorably discharged, in the late 1960's. Charles went on to work contracting as a software engineer in Massachusetts. Charles liked designing and building parts and machinery, working with small company owners such as Wendy and Robert Wentworth to simplify process for their company, Colored Flames. Charles especially love to work on his own patented, Reach Easy Pole, that is a bird feeder pole constructed from a ground post, and a swing arm for easy reach. Charles impact on the younger Freeman generation was summarized by Alice's granddaughter, Abigail McIntyre who said, "He taught me how to use tools, chop down a tree, cut, measure, sand, stain and just put things together. Archery was our favorite with the bow and arrow on my shoulder and holding it by my ear/cheek bone. "Oh, how delicious peppermint patties are", he would say as he secretly gave me way too many." Alice's out of state grandchildren were notability distressed to hear that they lost a "close family member". Charles loved to hunt, and was a steady visitor to Home Depot with Milo (dog) by his side. This man's name was Charles - He was a brother, good friend and friendly neighbor. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, but will forever be in our hearts. Charles' faith in God was strong, he is in God's Care, Safely Home. A funeral service is scheduled on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 3:00 pm at NH State Veteran's Cemetery located at 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303. The funeral will be approximately 20 minutes long, and scheduled to take place in the Chapel, officiated by Gary Rolph, Lead Chaplin, Retired VA Medical Center of Manchester, NH, followed by Honors presented by US Navy, with private burial.
