BARRINGTON - Charles "Chuck" Fournier, 71, peacefully passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, N.H., after a courageous battle with cancer.Born Oct. 10, 1938, in Rochester, N.H., he was the son of the late Wallace Victor and Lucia (Dube) Fournier. He has resided most of his life in Barrington, N.H. Chuck was a 1958 graduate of Spaulding High School and a state football champ. He then spent time serving in the U.S. Navy before going on to graduating from the Culinary Institute of America (C.I.A.). He was an accomplished executive chef who worked, managed and mentored at many hotels including The New England Center in Durham, N.H., and The Ashworth by the Sea in Hampton, N.H., where he was awarded the title Head Executive Chef of the Piscataqua Chapter.He retired from UNH Food Services in 2001.
