Rochester - Charles R. Scott, 78, passed away Monday October 5, 2015 at Hyder Hospice House following a period of failing health. Born October 9, 1936 in Rochester, NH he was the son of James Scott, Sr and Isabelle (Root) Merrill. Charlie served in the US Air Force, and later retired as a sheet metal worker from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Charlie was a very kind and generous man who was extremely loyal to those who were fortunate enough to call him their friend. He was a happy man who could always be heard singing or whistling. Charlie loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching all of the New England sports teams, fishing and playing cards. Members of his family include his loving wife of 58 years Constance (Dame) Scott of Rochester, NH; his children Kathy Scott-Leonard and husband Andrew of Rochester, NH; Jay Scott and wife Laura of Rochester, NH; Laurie DiGregorio and husband Joseph of Dover, NH; and John Scott and wife Patty of Ridgewood, NJ; his grandchildren Jarod, Tarah, Sarah, Hannah, Olivia, Madison, Parker, and Avery, six great grandchildren and his devoted brother James Scott, Jr and wife Barbara of Rochester, NH. He also leaves behind two brothers-in-law, Ed Dame and wife Jodi, and Richard Dame and wife Elaine. Family and friends may visit Saturday October 10, from 10-11AM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH, immediately followed by a memorial service at 11AM in the chapel of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cardiac Care Unit at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, C/O Fund Development Dept. 11 Whitehall Rd. Rochester, NH 03867.
