Claire C Bennett

Rochester - Claire C. Bennett, 96, died February 19, 2012 at the Hyder Family Hospice House. Born October 12, 1915 in Salem, MA. daughter of the late Peter and Laura (Menard) L'Italien. She was the widow of John "Jack" Bennett. After moving to Rochester from Beverly, MA in the late forties, she and her husband ran a sheet metal business, built a house and raised their family. Claire was a very loving mother, she loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved playing cards, Scrabble, reading and cross word puzzles. She also loved working in her flower garden at her home. She was an avid candlepin bowler and won several trophies for high score. She is survived by her children Jacqueline Bennett Brennan, James Bennett and wife Claire, Lynne Bennett Bergeron Cummiskey and her husband Bryon. Her grandchildren John Brennan and wife Lisa, Laura Brennan Smith and her husband Francis, Lesley Brennan, Michael Bennett, Tracie Bergeron Plodzik and her husband Jon, Nicole Bergeron Lorenzatti, and her husband David, Todd Bergeron, step grandchildren Crystal Coggeshall Beyea and John Coggeshall. Her great grandchildren Joseph Brennan, Kathryn Brennan, Philip Smith, Bennett Smith, Ethan Smith, Taylor Plodzik, Kevin Plodzik, Bradley Plodzik, Talia Lorenzatti, Domenic Lorenzatti, Bella Lorenzatti, and her step great grandchildren Owen and Jack Beyea. She is also survived by her sister Marcelle Pearson, her brother Leonard L'Italien, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Bennett, her granddaughter Shana Bennett, her son in law Guy Bergeron, son in law Joseph "Dick" Brennan, her sisters Anita and Audrey and brothers Jean, Edward and Laurian. Family and friends may visit Thursday February 23, from 3:30 to 5:00PM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH 03867. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 5PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Share Fund, 183 N. Main St. Rochester, NH 03867.
