Tomah, WI- SSG Clifford David Singelais, 61, passed away on June 10, 2018. He was a resident of Tomah, WI and Wakefield, NH. Clifford was born on August 4, 1956 at Murphy Army Hospital in Waltham, Massachusetts to MSG Clifford A. Singelais and Barbara Kelleher Singelais. He was later joined by siblings Nancy Morton, John Singelais, Deborah O'Halloran, and Sharyn Ciampa. Clif, with one "F", as he preferred to be called, was a man of patriotic duty, travel, and education. He served 3 tours of duty in Iraq, with the Army, and was a CPO SS in the Navy on a nuclear submarine. Clif was an avid learner and earned several degrees from UNH, Maine Maritime Academy, and Viterbo University. He was also a member of the NH Army National Guard (various roles), an engineer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Cold Regions Research Engineering Lab (CRREL). He taught at Haverhill Cooperative Middle School and tutored/mentored struggling youth. Clifford is survived by his wife, Chan Udorn Singelais, former wife Joanne Grissom Singelais and their three children; son David Singelais, two daughters; Rebekah Gonzalez and Rosemary Cray, as well as his six grandchildren. He loved his children and doted on his grandchildren. He adored the unique personalities of his grandchildren and often chose activities or gifts that would promote their passions. He will be missed by many for his love and generosity to his family, community, and country. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home in Rochester, NH on Thursday, June 21 from 4-5:30 pm with a memorial service following at 5:30. A graveside service will be held at NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Friday, June 22 at 11am.
