Cody Cleveland

ROCHESTER ; Cody W. Cleveland, 16, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children surrounded by family and friends.Born Jan. 19, 1993, in Portsmouth, N.H., the son of Scott and Deanie (Simmons) Cleveland. Cody was a sophomore honor student at Spaulding High School. He was a member of the jayvee and varsity soccer and basketball teams. He enjoyed playing golf, lifting weights, and cooking. Cody loved basketball and camping. He had strength and determination beyond his years. He was charming, kind, brave, and an unforgettable inspiration to anyone who knew him.Members of his family include his parents, Scott and Dea Cleveland of Rochester; his sister, Julie Cleveland of Rochester; his maternal grandparents, William and Donna Simmons of Alfred, Maine; maternal great-grandparents, Elaine and Bob Simmons of Faribault, Minn.; several aunts and uncles; close family friends, The Libby family of Rochester; Mark Hebert; and many, many others.Family and friends may call Wednesday, April 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S.
