Rochester - Daniel R. Livernois, 76, passed away January 22, 2015 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital following a period of failing health. Helena (Coombs) Livernois, his wife of 52 years, predeceased Daniel in January 2011. Born March 9, 1938 in Brunswick, ME he was the son of the late Philip and Antoinette (Dionne) Livernois, Sr. A devoted father and loving husband, his children will always remember the happy home that he and his wife Helena created for them throughout their life together. Daniel was a dedicated provider, exemplified by his 33 years of service to Davidson Rubber / Textron, with 29 of those years served in management. Daniel was widely known as a fair and honest man, as well as being very conscientious and community oriented. During his time at Davidson, Daniel became the head of the company's Social Committee, responsible in part for improving employee morale and leading the company's many community involvements, such as annual food drives for Community Action in Farmington. He became involved in the organization and execution of the "Davidson Rubber Christmas Party" variety show, held each year in service to Davidsons hundreds of employees and their families. Daniel participated in the production and execution of the Christmas Party, lending his considerable singing talent and humor to its many skits and segues. Daniel's involvement with the Social Committee led him to become involved with Farmington's annual "Hay Day," as well as the Rochester Christmas Parade, both of which employed the Committee's "Puddledock Express," the scaled down "locomotive," in their parades, with the "Express" often having the added distinction of carrying Santa Claus at Christmas. The role of Santa Claus was near and dear to Daniel, as for years, he donned an elaborate Santa outfit and charitably entertained the members of local nursing homes during the Christmas season with his own brand of charm and wit. An honorable Navy veteran, he was a member of the Elks Lodge 1393 of Rochester, the Victory Club, AMVETS, and the American Legion Post 7 of Rochester. Members of his family include his children Daniel Livernois of Haverhill, MA; Barbara Livernois of Rochester, NH; Virginia Howard of Columbus, GA; Teresa Lyle and husband Jeff of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Mark Livernois and wife Susan of New Braunfels, TX; several grandchildren and one great grandchild, his siblings Philip Livernois, Sr. of ME; Vivienne Finneran of FL; and Sylvia Williams of ME; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Thursday, January 29, from 2-4 PM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A memorial service will be held at 4PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
