David W. Doyon

SOMERSWORTH, David W. "Dave" Doyon, 91, of Somersworth New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, after a brief illness.  Dave was born on October 9, 1930, the only child of Gideon and Olive (Marquis) Doyon. Dave was educated at St. Martin Academy and Somersworth High School.  After high school he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Korean War receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1954.  Upon his return from the Navy he met and married the love of his life, Madeleine Ramsey.  After their retirement from General Electric, where he worked for 30 years, they enjoyed traveling in the United States and Europe, gardening, playing the piano, enjoying the beach at Drake's Island and spending precious time with their two grandchildren.  Dave was a lifelong communicant of St. Martin Church, Somersworth. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Madeleine and leaves behind his three children, Marc Doyon (Catherine Brown) of Rochester, Dana Doyon (Kathy MacDonald) of New Durham and Renee (John) Hall of Dover; his two grandchildren, Michael Doyon of Dover and Evan Doyon of Somersworth. The family would like to thank the staff at Lilac View for their care, comfort and support of Dave over the last seven months; as well as the ED staff at Frisbie Memorial Hospital for his end of life care. It was deeply appreciated. A private funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Parish in Somersworth, NH. Burial will be in Mt Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth in the Spring.
