Somersworth, NH - On June 26, 2023, Debora Louise Mangala Staples Warner, 65, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends after 17 years with Multiple Systems Atrophy, MSA. She was born in Portsmouth, NH on September 19, 1957 to Winfield and Peggy Ann (Blankenship) Staples Jr. and grew up in Rye, NH. She graduated from Portsmouth High School and went on to receive a bachelors in Health Management and a Master's Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland. In 1992 Debora Mangala trained with Integral Yoga teacher Sri Swami Satchidananda becoming a favorite senior teacher trainer for Integral Yoga and touching the heads and hearts of thousands of yoga teachers and students throughout the world. In the mid 90's she trained with, and became an assistant trainer for Sri Mukunda Stiles whose book Structural Yoga Therapy is a classic for Yoga Therapy. Debora Mangala went on to train Structural Yoga Teachers and Therapists along with Integral Yoga for two decades. At Mukunda's passing, she was named one of his two successors. To deepen her yoga studies Debora Mangala resided in India for 6 months and revisited her beloved India whenever possible. A highlight for Debora Mangala was spending time at Oneness University where she met SriAmmaBhagavan. Her example of unconditional love and extraordinary generosity was inspirational. Her teaching and bright loving spirit will be dearly remembered and a gift to many around the world. She enjoyed her collection of elephants as they are a signs of physical and mental strength and power. She also had a love for whoopie pies which would always bring a smile to her face. Those surviving are brother Scott Staples (Kathy); sister Linda Sprague (Stephen Foster); sister-in-law Paula Staples; 3 nephews T.J. Sprague (Yolande), Darrell Sprague (Ellen) and J.D. Minor; 7 great nephews and nieces. Debora is predeceased by her parents Winfield and Peggy Ann (Blankenship) Staples Jr., sister Elizabeth Staples and brother Dwight Staples. The memorial service will be at R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home in Rochester, NH on Tuesday August 8, 2023 at 4:00 PM. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to support Multiple System Atrophy research under the direction of Dr. Vikram Khurana Brigham and Women's Hospital.
