ROCHESTER ; Deborah Jeanne Smith, 47, lost her courageous 21⁄2 year battle with cancer. The Lord Jesus Christ called her home Friday, May 8, 2009.Debbie was born in Winchester, Mass., on July 29, 1961. She graduated from Billerica Memorial High School, Class of 1983. Debbie worked for the Salvation Army as a bell ringer around the holidays. She was a people person who saw the good in everyone she met. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greater Rochester and a proud follower of Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. Debbie was a member of the Eagles Club #4216 of Ocala, Fla.Debbie leaves behind a very large family. She is survived by her partner of 11 years, Donald Blazonis of Rochester; son, Matthew Paul Smith of Roslindale, Mass.; parents, Barbara (Lord) Smith and Richard M. Smith of Rochester; brothers, David Lord and wife, Peggy, Jonesport, Maine, Timothy Smith and partner, Gloria Soucy of Rochester, Kenneth Smith and wife, Kimberly, of Billerica, Mass., Douglas Smith and wife, Nancy, of W. Lebanon, Maine, Richard Smith Jr. and partner, Judi Wolf of Rochester, Brian Smith and partner, Marilyn Gass of Billerica, Mass., Gary Smith of Rochester; one sister, Sherri-Lynn and husband, Peter Baudanza of Lebanon, Maine. She is also survived by three aunts, 14 nieces and nephews, her best friend, Cindy Stone and her faithful cat, "Natasha." She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald in 1975 and Stephen in 1981.Family and friends may visit Monday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Jesse Smith of the First Baptist Church of Greater Rochester, officiating.
