Debra V Goodwin

d. March 12, 2016

Rochester   Debra Vavrica Goodwin, daughter and only child of Ernest and Nancy (Mazur) Belleville of Barrington, and devoted mother of Tristan Aaron Goodwin of Rochester, unexpectedly passed away at her home on March 12, 2016. She was just 40 years old.   The bicentennial baby who became known as Debi with an "i" was born in Manchester, NH on February 27, 1976. She attended Barrington schools and graduated from Dover High School in 1994. She was a professional hair stylist, beginning her training at the DHS Vocational-Technical School and finalizing her studies at Empire Beauty School. Debi was a talented and popular stylist, having most recently worked at the Blue Oasis Salon in Rochester.   A person of many talents, Debi was an accomplished equestrian and took great pleasure and pride in dressage, jumping and cross-country events from the age of 10 through her late teens. She was artistic, enjoyed singing and dancing, and was a good cook. In her younger days, she was an integral part of championship school soccer and town softball teams.   Debi enjoyed many friends and attracted people to her with her generous nature, kind spirit and never-give-up attitude. Next to Tristan, Debi loved all animals and would have surrounded herself with all manner of creatures, whether furry or feathered, had she only been able to afford it. Debi was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Ernest and Juliette Belleville, and her maternal grandparents, Adam and Clara Mazur. She is survived by her parents, her son, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by her parrot, Lola. Debi was also especially close to Cathy LaChance, Brianne Doman and Patty Goodwin.   Friends and family are invited to a commemoration and remembrance of Debi's life at the Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH, on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 5-7 PM. Light refreshments will follow. In honor of her often-stated request, Debi's ashes will be spread over the grave of her Arabian show horse and BFF, Sharik Rafaga.   In lieu of flowers, and in tribute to Debi's love of animals, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the New Hampshire SPCA Animal Shelter, 104 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, NH 03885.
