Dennis Eugene Thompson, 72, of Rochester, NH, passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side, on November 3, 2023. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1951 to George and Muriel (Caswell) Thompson. He graduated from Dover High School in 1969 and attended the Northeast Institute of Industrial Technology, earning his diploma in Technical Drafting and Design. After receiving his diploma, Dennis enlisted in the United States Air Force, stationed in Minot, North Dakota and was honorably discharged after serving as a Senior Airman. After serving in the United States Air Force, Dennis worked as a contracted Software Developer for many years. His favorite pastimes were the many vacations with his beautiful wife, Cheryl, his favorite being their trip to the Cayman Islands where they got married in 2001, as well as many concerts, grandchildren's sporting events, listening to many different music genres, and the 9 newspapers he read daily. Dennis was the recipient of a heart transplant in February of 2011 and he and his family will be forever grateful to his donor and their family. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Cheryl (Brescia) Thompson, of 22 years, his daughter Maegan McWhorter, her husband Michael, and her children, Kris and Jacob Tellez, his daughter, Melissa Tammaro, her husband Patrick, and their children, Kaleb, Hailey, and Jeremy, his stepson, Mark Cameron, his significant other Kristen, his son Devon Cameron and wife Emily, his stepson, Matthew Cameron, his significant other Brittany, and his children Bryce and Nora, his brother Edgar "Eddie" Thompson and his wife Janis, and many loving family and friends. Dennis was predeceased by his parents George and Muriel (Caswell) Thompson and his brother William "Billy" Thompson. Please join Dennis's family and friends at R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday November 15, 2023 from 4-6 PM, followed by a funeral service at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on November 16, 2023 at 12:00 PM.
