1/5/44 - 2/24/21 Rochester, NH - Dixie Jean King, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, left this earth on February 24, 2021 at the age of 77. After a lengthy illness and a brave and courageous fight, she was ready to go home to be with our Lord and Savior. Her family and close friends will remember her and celebrate her life in a small private service on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021. Dixie was born in Sanford, ME on January 5, 1944 to the late Marion Rand. She lived in several states before settling in NH for most of her life. Dixie dedicated her life to taking care of others. She gave everything she had to her family and loved them beyond measure. She will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. Dixie was caring, devoted, graceful, inspiring, strong, and a beautiful soul with a witty sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, listening to country music, watching her favorite shows and collecting tea pots. She loved flowers and birds and was a gifted quilter. Her talent and beauty will live on through the many quilts she lovingly made for her children and grandchildren. Dixie is survived by her husband of 48 years, A.J. King of Rochester, NH, their daughter Christine Busick (Michael) and their daughters Ashley and Katelyn of TX, grandson Matthew Brown of NH, granddaughter Roxanne King of NH, as well as her sisters Jaunita Collins, Mary Jones and brother Errol Grant (Cynthia). She was predeceased by son Richard King, daughter April King, sisters Margaret Grant, Nancy Bushatz, Naomi Condon, Leola Myers, Sylvia McCoy and brothers Roger Rand and Daniel Grant.
