Rochester, NH, Donald Kenneth Denton, 80, of 33 Highland Street, East Rochester died Monday May 31, 2010 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health. Born April 25, 1930 in Pittsfield. MA he was the son of the late Kenneth Charles and Mabel (Harrington) Denton. Don has resided in Rochester for 58 years previously living in Fitchburg,MA. He was the owner and operator of Great Falls Products for many years , retiring at the age of 50. He then worked as an estimator for Salmon Falls Precision and served on their board of directors.. He was a longtime member of the Jaycee's and Kiwanis. Don's hobbies included woodworking, fishing , camping, knitting on a knitting machine and repairing organs. In his earlier years he enjoyed racing cars. Members of his family include his wife of 20 years, Mary Arlene (Hellman) Peabody Denton of E. Rochester; daughters, Deborah D. Foss and husband Earl of Loudon, NH, Donna D. O'Brien and husband Jim of Farmington, NH, Darlene D. Cardinal and husband Kim of Farmington, NH; Heather Denton Arlen Rochester special daughter-in-law ;22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Diane Frost, Farmington, Charles Peabody, Orlando, FL., Janice Foss, Rochester NH, William Peabody, Northwood, NH, Raymond Peabody, Rochester NH; sister, Linda Denton Wentworth, Sarasota, FL. He was predeceased by his first wife Lucille Denton, son, Douglas Denton; grandchild, Matthew O'Brien and great grandchild, Nicholas Foss. Family and friends may visit Thursday evening from 6-7pm at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery Franklin Street, Rochester NH at a later date.
