Donald Smith Hawkins Jr.

Rochester, NH- Donald S. Hawkins, Jr, 81, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover after a period of failing health. He was born Aug. 26, 1936 in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Donald S. Sr. and Marion (Welch) Hawkins. He attended NH Technical Institute and worked as an electrician for Public Service Company for 33 years. Don served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was an avid ham radio operator. He was a longtime member of First Church Congregational of Rochester, the Elks Lodge, # 1393, and Humane Lodge F. & A.M. #21. Don especially enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Members of his family include his loving wife of 60 years, Ramona "Mona" (Sprague) Hawkins; son Peter C. Hawkins, Sr. and wife Sandy, Rochester; daughter, Lisa M. Hawkins, Wakefield, NH; grandchildren, Peter C. Hawkins, Jr. and Timothy Ouellette; mother-in-law, Madeline Sprague, Union, NH and his dog "Gulliver". A Celebration of Life will be held March 10th at 1:00 at First...
