Doris Therrien

Rochester - Doris "Dot" Ann Therrien, 76, died at home on January 3, 2011 after a long illness. Born May 27, 1934 in Quincy, MA she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Delory) Mains. Dot worked for many years at General Electric and over the years had hobbies that included canning, ceramics, and other handcrafts. She loved the sun and for many years vacationed at York Beach, Maine. She also enjoyed spending time in the back yard by the pool with family and friends. Dot was a member of St. Mary Church in Rochester and before becoming ill she was very active as a Eucharistic minister and as a member of the bereavement committee. She often volunteered for other church functions like the annual Christmas penny sale. Those who knew Dot well believe that her most important work as a Christian was in her acceptance and kindness to others. She opened her heart and home to acquaintances and strangers alike and treated everyone like family. Dot will most be remembered as a wife, mother and grandmother....
