Dorothy Gray Farmington - Dorothy I. Gray, 87, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at her home, following a brief illness. Born December 3, 1922 in Norwich, VT, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Ethel (Hodgdon) Weymouth. Dottie was a very gifted seamstress. For many years she would make dolls and other home made items for all the grandchildren. She enjoyed painting, caning and restoring old chairs, and restoring other furniture. Dottie and her husband, Bill, spent many years vacationing around the country with her sister Polly and husband Donny. Some of their more memorable times were spent digging for old bottles. On one of their bottle digging adventures, she found a very rare bottle. During their retirement years, Bill and Dot wintered in Zephyrhills, FL. The summers were spent with their children and grandchildren at camp on the island at Baxter Lake in Farmington. In 2007, they sold their home in Florida and moved back to Farmington to be near their children. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dottie's niece, Gail, daughter Lorraine and daughter-in-law Kathy for the wonderful care that was given up until the time she was called home. Members of her family include her husband of 54 years, William Gray of Farmington, her children Harold Gray and wife Beaddie of Lebanon, ME, Lawrence Gray of Shapleigh, ME, Kenneth Gray and wife Sharon of Madbury, Richard Gray of Gonic, Franklin Condon and wife Kathy of Farmington, Wayne Condon and wife Mary Lynn of Lebanon, ME, and Lorraine Carpenter of Corinna, ME, her daughter-in-law Rosy Polichak of Corinna, ME, brother-in-laws Donald Hayes of Deerfield, NH and Ernest Gray and wife Maria of Powhal, ME, 28 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Andrew, Harry, Theodore, Austin, Leon, Garfield, and Leslie, her sisters Olive, Alice, and Polly, son Carl Gray, Jr., brother-in-law Stanley Gray and sister-in-law Marjorie Gray. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton, Road, Exeter, NH 03883 A graveside service will take place at the Kimball Cemetery, Meaderboro Road, Rochester, NH at a later date.
