Dorothy Johnsen

Barrington - Dorothy E. Johnsen, 68, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at home.   Born May 29, 1948, in New Britain, CT, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Kardys) Bogoslawski.   Dorothy was a dedicated educator for most of her career, teaching at McIntosh College for 26 years and most recently with the University of Phoenix.   She was smart and independent. She lived in her home in Barrington for nearly 40 years where she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, listening to The Eagles, reading Steven King novels, and gardening. She also loved traveling and spending time at the beach in Cape Cod.   She is remembered by her family, including her children, Karli Cunningham, and husband Bryan of Jersey City, NJ, and Kristian Johnsen, and partner Jessica Hovey of Portland, ME, her granddaughter Marketa Cunningham, and her sister Eleanor Riggott of CT.   Family and friends may visit from 12 - 3PM on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the R.M.
