Dorothy Kittredge

ROCHESTER ; Dorothy "Dottie" Kittredge, 60, of 6 Hickory Lane, died peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H.Born July 17, 1948, in Claremont, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Jackson) Dodge. She attended Claremont schools and was a graduate of Bay Path College.Dottie lived in Rochester for the past 32 years, where she spent countless hours volunteering at youth and high school sports, and was particularly dedicated to Special Olympics. Employed at the University of New Hampshire for over 30 years, most recently in the Dean's Office at the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, she was widely known throughout the University community for her professionalism, kindness, and enthusiasm for UNH sports. Her compassionate spirit touched countless students, faculty and staff over these past three decades. She enjoyed knitting, watching sports and cheering on her favorite teams, the Red Sox, Notre Dame and Duke. Dottie treasured the many magical summers she spent at Ocean Park, Maine, with family and friends, and she loved the many golden retrievers she had over the years.Members of her family include her son, Brett Kittredge and his wife, Andrea, of Denver, Colo.; her daughter, Tracey Kittredge of Erie, Colo.; her brothers, Brian Dodge of Keene, and Kevin Dodge of Granada Hills, Calif.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Kittredge, in 1987. In addition, she will be deeply missed by many, many friends.There are no calling hoursA memorial service will be held Friday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary's Church on Lowell Street in Rochester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Seacoast Cancer Center at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.Arrangements are under the direction of the R.M.
