Dorothy Smart

Rochester, NH- Dorothy A.  Smart, 87, of 3 Roseberry Lane passed away Wednesday Nov. 28, 2018 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH. She was born Feb. 20, 1931 in Portland, ME the daughter of the late Ellis and Addie (Haney) Brown. She has resided in this area all of her life and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1949. She was a longtime member of Grace Community Church of Rochester where she volunteered weekly. Dotty worked as a quality inspector for Davidson Rubber for 17 years. She was recognized as an animal activist making many blankets for the dogs and cats. Dotty was a beautiful spirit who loved God and her family. She got a lot of joy from helping others every day. She enjoyed the beach, gardening and quilting. The widow of Valmore Smart who died in 2004, she is survived by sons, Dennis Fleming, Michael Fleming, David and wife Lori Smart; daughters, Terri and husband Jack DeForest and Rhonda Fleming; step daughter, Janet Nickless; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren;...
