Douglas A. Smith

Rochester – Douglas A. Smith, 63, passed away Saturday October 4, 2025, at his home following an unexpected illness.

Born July 30, 1962, in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Alan and Joan (Wilkie) Smith.

Doug worked for more than twenty years for Liberty Mutual in the IT department. In his free time, he loved playing guitar and was a member of the band Invasion, which included his younger brother Jonathan. He also enjoyed golfing, cooking, and, above all he loved his children and being a hockey dad. During the summer months, Doug cherished his time at the family cottage in Lakeville MA, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, and all kinds of water sports.

He is survived by his children Hannah and Christian Smith both of Rochester, NH; his brother Jonathan Smith of Somersworth, NH; his sister Stephanie Tobey and husband William of Alfred ME; as well as his nephews, William, Alex and Ryan along with their children, his great nieces and nephews Emma, Ryder, Macy, Brentley, and Kenna.

Family and friends may visit Wednesday October 15, 2025, from 4 PM – 7 PM at the R. M. Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH.
