Dulcie I. Dunton, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on July 16, 1931, in Chiswick, London, England, she was the cherished daughter of Winnie (Bear) and Frederick Bear.
Dulcie grew up in London, where she went to school and worked as an assistant to a photographer and later as a librarian. Her life took a wonderful turn when she met and fell in love with Kenneth I. Dunton. After traveling across the Atlantic, she married him on May 3, 1951, in South Carolina. Together, they built a warm and loving family, raising five children and eventually settling in their forever home in Barrington, New Hampshire.
Dulcie was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Dunton, and their son, Kenneth Dunton Jr. She is survived by her children Dennis Dunton, Linda Dunton, Richard Dunton and his wife, Elaine Dunton, and Robert Dunton. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren—each one a source of pride and joy for her.
Dulcie will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, her creativity in gardening, and the unwavering love she had for her family. Her legacy continues in the countless lives she touched and in the memories treasured by all who knew and loved her.
The celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 7, 94 Eastern Avenue, Rochester, NH 03867 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on December 6, 2025. Light refreshments will be served.
