Edward Cossette

Rochester NH- Edward "Gene" Cossette, 71, of 12 Watson Drive died Friday Oct. 29, 2010 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover after a battle with cancer. He was born May 14, 1939 in Rochester NH, the son of the late Edward and Antionette (Ferland) Cossette. He was a lifelong resident of Rochester, a 1957 graduate of Spaulding High School and a member of the undefeated state champion SHS football team. He enjoyed golfing, attending UNH football games and taking his special dog "Raggs" to Rochester dog park. He was a USTA racing official, working at many tracks throughout the US including Meadowlands, Louisville Downs, the Red Mile in Kentucky, Northfield Park in Ohio, Foxboro Raceway, Rockingham, and Scarborough Downs. Members of his family include his wife of 46 years, Pearl (DeWolf) Cossette of Rochester ; son, Edward and wife Erika Cossette of Plano TX. ; daughter, Raeann and husband Dan Clarke of Rochester; two grandchildren, Emma and Aidan Clarke ; brothers, Donald Cossette of MA., Gerald Cossette of TX.; sisters, Sylvia St. Germaine of FL. Valerie Demosthenes of ME. several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Wednesday Nov. 3, 2010 3-6PM at the R.M.
