Obituary

Edward Clement Dufault, 90, of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away on June 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Edward was born on September 7, 1935, in Springvale, Maine, to his parents, Joseph and Emma (Dubois) Dufault. He carried with him throughout his life the strong values of family, dedication, and quiet resilience that defined his character.

Edward worked for over 30 years as a machinist at General Electric, where he was known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic. He retired early in order to lovingly care for his late wife, Barbara (Heath) Dufault, after she became suddenly ill—a lasting testament to his devotion and deep love for his family.

Edward enjoyed a full and active life. He was an avid bowler and participated in many leagues throughout the years. He also competed in an 80-and-over horseshoe league, where he earned the nickname “Double Time” for his spirited playing style. He found great joy in fishing, especially during cherished outings with his sons and grandsons.

One of Edward’s favorite places was a special swing in his backyard, where he spent peaceful hours watching planes take off and land at Sky Haven Airport—simple moments that brought him great happiness.

Edward was a fortunate man who found love once again and married the beautiful Sharon (Foster) Dufault. Together, they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage filled with companionship, laughter, and devotion.

Edward is survived by his children: Eddy Dufault and his wife Robin; Rodney Dufault and his wife Diane; Julie Dufault Wotton and her husband Daniel; Gail Dufault Bavota and her husband Robert; Joey Dufault; and Donna Dufault Allaire and her husband Steven. He was predeceased by his daughter, Dorothy Dufault Eldridge, and by all of his siblings. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and an abundance of great-grandchildren.

Edward will be remembered for his steady presence, his quiet humor, and his unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

A funeral service will be held on July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
